The owner of MET, Deon Steyn, is a Technologist and has extensive project management skills and experience having worked as a Project Manager for corporate organizations. Deon applies these skills successfully in event organization. Deon qualified as a UCI MTB commissaire in 2011; inter alia Deon was the President Commissaire at the 2017 Cape Epic and 2017/8 Cape Pioneer Trek events and has officiated as a commissaire in various countries including four African Continental MTB Championships.

Deon is the owner of the Gauteng and Northwest high school MTB Series and has built the Gauteng Series from 43 riders in 2005 to 918 riders in 2017 masterminding a paperless entry system.
